Notary Service Terms & Policies
Please review what to expect before you request a notary appointment with LCM Notarial Services.
Booking and deposits
Appointment requests are not secured until the required deposit or prepayment is received. The booking deposit is credited toward the final balance. The amount due at booking depends on the service: mobile and general appointments normally require a booking deposit, remote online notarization normally requires the approved amount in advance, and some loan signings are paid by the company that assigned them.
Confirmation
Submitting a request, calling, or texting does not confirm an appointment. Your appointment is confirmed only after LCM Notarial Services reviews the details, sends your quote, and any amount due at booking has been paid. You will receive a secure link to review your quote and appointment status.
Cancellation
Cancellation at least 24 hours before the appointment: the applicable booking deposit is refunded. Cancellation less than 24 hours before the appointment: the applicable booking deposit may be retained. Client no-show: the applicable booking deposit is retained. LCM cancellation: the applicable refundable advance payment is returned. Technology or platform failure attributable to LCM or its provider: the client is not penalized. LCM may waive or adjust cancellation treatment when circumstances warrant.
Rescheduling
First reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice: the existing deposit transfers. Second reschedule: a new booking deposit is required to secure the next appointment. Reschedule inside 24 hours: the late-change/cancellation policy applies unless LCM waives it.
Waiting time
Appointments include a 15-minute grace period. Additional waiting time beyond the grace period may be billed in 15-minute increments. LCM will make reasonable efforts to accommodate late arrivals, but the appointment time cannot be extended indefinitely.
Travel and mileage
Mobile appointments include travel within a local service area. Travel beyond that area, additional stops, and appointments elsewhere in Texas may carry a travel or mileage charge, which is shown in your quote before you confirm.
Fees and additional services
Texas law sets the maximum fees a notary may charge for notarial acts. LCM service charges, such as travel, waiting time, after-hours, rush, printing, or witnesses, are separate from notarial fees. If additional documents, signatures, or services are needed at the appointment, they will be itemized and you will be asked to review and accept them before the appointment is completed.
Refunds and credits
Your booking deposit is credited toward your final balance. When a refund applies under the cancellation terms above, it is returned to the original payment method. Your bank or card provider may need additional time to post it.
Remote online notarization (RON)
RON is completed over a secure audio-video session. Each signer needs a device with a camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection, and must complete identity verification. Not every document or receiving party accepts online notarization; please confirm eligibility with the party requesting your document before booking.
Loan signings
As a signing agent, LCM presents documents for signature and notarizes them as requested. The signer should direct questions regarding loan terms, legal meaning, or document decisions to their lender, title company, attorney, or appropriate professional.
Third-party payers
When a title company, lender, signing service, or other business is responsible for payment, the signer is not asked to pay the amounts that business has agreed to cover. Any charges the business does not cover will be disclosed to you before the appointment.

The notary is not an attorney and cannot give legal advice, prepare legal documents, or choose a notarial act or certificate for you.
