Remote Online Notarization
Notarization Without the Extra Trip
Remote Online Notarization can allow eligible signers to meet with a commissioned Texas online notary through an approved online process, rather than coordinating an in-person meeting.
Document eligibility and acceptance requirements can vary. The receiving party, issuing agency, attorney, title company, governmental office, or other appropriate recipient should determine whether electronic and remote notarization is acceptable for the particular document.
- Convenient online appointments
- Useful for busy property teams and residents
- Helpful when parties are not in the same location
- No unnecessary travel for eligible documents
- Secure identity-verification procedures through the RON platform
- Electronic completion of eligible notarizations
- An easy option for leasing and management teams referring someone to a notary
How It Works
Four simple steps online
01
Start Your Request
Select Apartment / Multifamily Services and share basic information about your notarization request.
02
Document & Eligibility Review
Provide the information needed to determine whether the requested notarial act can appropriately proceed through the available RON process. This is not a legal review of your document.
03
Meet Online
Complete the required identity-verification process and meet with the Texas online notary using the applicable RON platform.
04
Complete the Notarization
The eligible electronic notarization is completed through the RON platform, and you receive the appropriate completed document or process instructions.

LCM provides notary services only. LCM does not provide apartment or property management services, and does not provide legal advice.

Common Needs
When a Notary Resource May Be Helpful
Property teams, residents and vendors may occasionally encounter documents for which a notarization has been requested or required. Examples may include:
- Affidavits
- Sworn statements
- Acknowledgments
- Jurats
- Resident-provided documents
- Certain business or vendor documents
- Certain property-related documents
- Other documents containing a lawful notarial certificate
Notarization requirements depend on the document and circumstances. Not every housing-related document requires notarization. LCM does not determine whether a document requires notarization and does not provide legal advice. Questions regarding document preparation, legal effect, required signatures, recording requirements, or the appropriate notarial certificate should be directed to the document recipient, issuing agency, attorney, title company, or other appropriate professional.

For Property Management Teams
Give Your Team a Notary Resource They Can Keep on File
Your property teams should not have to search for a notary every time a resident, vendor or colleague asks for one.
LCM is developing an Apartment / Multifamily Resource Packet designed for property management professionals. Teams will be able to keep the resource internally and share appropriate information directly with people requesting notary assistance.
The packet may ultimately include:
- LCM notary contact information
- Remote Online Notarization information
- Mobile/in-person options
- How to request an appointment
- Resident-facing notary information
- General appointment preparation guidance
- Appropriate Texas notary disclosures
